Blind Melon

Blind Melon, four-time Grammy Nominee and multi-platinum recording artist, is responsible for some of the most memorable and pure-sounding rock music of the ‘90s. Blind Melon was one of rock’s feel-good ‘overnight success stories’ best known for “Tones of Home”, “Change” and their smash hit, “No Rain. In recent years their story had taken a dramatic turn – from an abrupt and tragic end, to a rebirth and reconnection with their legion of dedicated fans. With their reformation in 2007, Blind Melon has picked up with their fans exactly where they left off.

Named XPN’s “Artist to Watch” in January, Ali Awan is a singer-songwriter who began playing shows in West Philadelphia basements as a guitar and bass player at 15 yrs old. After multiple nationwide tours as a member of the psych boogie band Needle Points, and a lead guitar position in the NY based project Jane Church, Awan has since been writing and performing his own material. Awan's Butterfly EP, released last month, stacks layers of guitars and keyboards into robust arrangements that reward repeat listens. There's always some new element to discover, whether it's a scintillating melody you never caught before, or the gravity of the songwriter's own lyrical musings about getting lost in the shadows of your mind.
